We are recognized as one of the most active filers of patents in the country, and are consistently rated among the top patent, copyright and trademark firms.  We are seeking a HRIS Specialist to join the Human Resources team in our Minneapolis office. The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $75,000.

In order to perform one (1) or more essential functions of this role, a minimum of three (3) days in the office is required.

Human Resources Responsibilities:

  1. Updates HRIS and internal checklists with necessary data including new employee records, terminations and changes, benefits and attendance records.
  1. Maintains employee personnel files including opening new employee files and filing all materials, including using E-verify.
  1. Administrative responsibilities: 
    1. Troubleshoot and work with both employees and UKG support on HRIS issues
    2. Update intranet – benefits, notices, forms, directory, payroll calendar
    3. Assist with review process 
    4. Answer questions from employees regarding payroll, PTO, Timecards and benefits
  1. Responsible for onboarding process for new hires including new hire orientation, handbooks, employment policies, administrative department and attorney handbook
  1. Coordinates semi-monthly payroll processing with Finance, including:
    1. Overtime report
    2. Payroll issues
    3. UKG reports
    4. Benefit Reports
    5. PANs (Personal Action Notice)
  1. Responsible for benefit items:
    1. Audit of monthly benefit records
    2. Updating benefit carriers
    3. Monthly benefit billing payments 
    4. Parking/transit reimbursements through transportation benefit, adding and terming parking passes for each office.
    5. Open enrollment process and set up.
  1. Special projects as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
  1. Two plus years of Human Resources experience and/or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource management.
  2. Experience with HRIS software required; UKG strongly preferred.
  3. Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints.
  4. Ability to effectively resolve problems or issues, by using judgment that is consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulations or government law.
  5. Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate with a diverse group of employees and to provide information with ordinary courtesy and tact.
  6. Work occasionally requires a high level of mental effort to maintain coordination of multiple tasks.
